Book Reviews: The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Often scary, in-your-face action abounds in this sci-fi thriller. Vividly imagined, dark and utterly engrossing, Dashner leaves you little time to recover from one shock before something else takes us on yet another thrill ride. Not the best written novel ever, but by the time you’ve been alongside the characters – fighting Grievers and each other, trying desperately to escape the maze – you tend not to care as much about the writing style. Recommended for ages 14-18. Contains violence, mature themes and coarse language. WARNING: You may find yourself yelling unusual curse words whenever something bad happens after you read this book.
